I went to the City of Pittsburgh Police 48 hours later to report my son James (Jimmy) Slack missing 12-9-11. Officer Mr. Henry refused to take report told me he was probably shacking up, thats what 25 yr old guys do. He then informed me to make missing person report to Bridgeville police where my son lived. I explained my son was at a concert in the city of Pittsburgh, this is why I came to the city. Filed with Bridgeville Boro police, who did not have the resources or equiptment for this type of search outside their district. Search was turned over to Pgh Police a week later. Too much time lapsed for cadaver dogs, divers, etc. Feel delay in Pittsburgh search caused such emotional pain to my family & me. Hunderds of volunteers searched daily for my son. His body was found 1-3-12 in the Ohio River 1 mile from concert site. This was the worst experiance of my life. I am still emotionaly sick over this, and extremely upset with Pgh Police. Did file a complaint, but of course ruled unfounded. All I wanted was for them to realize the additional pain they caused and to take missing adult reports serious.
