She was in band for four years, we were active parents in all she did. She attended Deep Creek all her school life. What the parents afraid of? When Grassfield opened they took many of my friends and teachers away. You could walk down the hallways and see the major impact the move made on the school. It was good for the classes to be a bit smaller but with that came the cutting of some higher level classes. It was not fair to the students that stayed at Deep Creek we suffered my last 2 years at the school. I would like to see them come back.

Now DCHS is seriously "underattended," which means we get less money for less kids. How are we going to "keep up" like that? Give us our neighborhoods back. The teachers, principal and counselors at DCH always went above and beyond to assist them with everything they ever needed. They truly care about the students and it shows. My children graduated with honors and went on to graduate from JMU with honors and be on the deans list at Va Tech because of their education at DCH. DCH deserves rezoning. It has done so much for so many and should continue to be able to do so.

My son attends Deep Creek Central Elementary and I have been so happy with the staff at his school. My son's education is the most important thing to me and what I care about is the quality of his instruction---not the building he attends.
