He did not hurt anyone and has shown remorse. I see worse behaviour and blatent dissregard for people on the roads everyday! Youth prisons are very violent and frightening places and I think judges should think twice about the REAL punishment they are handing down to vulnerable and sensitive and often disturbed young members of society.

He should have been given some form of community service preferably working with the elderly or ex-soldiers. This would have enabled him to really atone for his crime and at the same time continue with his studies. he will gain nothing from being locked up and I am so pleased that you have started this petition. It was an accident, but still. Why would someone who took a human life get two months month than a young boy who obviously got carried away and was under the influence of alcohol. Would it have happened if he wasn't the son of a rich musician? And would he be in jail if the papers had not splattered his picture across every newspaper of the country?

It would be fairer for him to have made community recompense and maybe serve a much shorter sentence (max 6 months being let out after 3 for good behaviour). In prison he is being exposed to bad influence and having his education messed up.
