I believe management has changed after a year because every time I go see the fish, there are dead ones in the tanks. The newer bettas are in the back row, and my roommate got lucky with the health of her fish. I not at all. What seemed healthy at the time, unlike his brothers, had turned ill quickly a couple weeks later. There's a good chance he died to columnaris.

a dirty deli container. This seems to be
something I see in a number of Walmart
stores. We brought the manager in on
our visit last night, but we will see if anything is done about this. We were so
glad to see Hermit Crabs no longer being
sold at our local Walmart. This is worse.

They do not take back live fishes when returned. They only give refund when fish is dead.
We bought 4 fishes from Walmart out of which one died within 24hrs and the other 3 was acting similar to the fish that was dead and we simply returned the other live fish to the store without getting any refund for them. Only God knows what they did with our returned fish.

I have bought fish from them once only to have them die in quarantine a few days later. Lately every time I am in the pet section there tanks are full of dead moldy fish. There tanks are covered in algae with. The feces haven't been cleaned in months. There Betta fish are all in foggy cups that don't get changed out and half of them look like they have ick. A few had moldy spot on there faces. Other Walmarts around us are just as bad. There employees are horribly misinformed. Other than bagging the fish they don't know what communities go together, how big they get or even the proper setups to house them. A few days ago a lady was back there asking how to set up a tank. The employee informed her to just fill it with tap water and put the fish in after a hour. I got talking to her on how to properly set it up after he left and noticed she had three male bettas, a bala and a cat fish in her cart. I asked her what she was putting them in and she said the employee informed her they would do fine together in a 10gal tank if you don't have decor and that she 'may' need to upgrade the tank in a few years.

I take care of them. feed them when hungry and even have a quarantine tank that they all go to whenever they get sick so they can prepare for treatment.
Im always upset when i cant stand to look at the fish at walmart suffering from starvation, ick or anything else. it pisses me off

I've witnessed a school of fish eating a decomposed fish of the same kind in several different tanks. These fish are dying and they don't even care. It's horrible and I can't STAND to see it !
