We hear about child & adult obesity - it is shocking that the city would close 2 pools that enhance public health for Regina's citizens. These pools also create a sense of community, and pools should be located throughout the City. Pools should be increased, not reduced. People should be able to bike or walk to the pool, not only use vehicles. I am a frequent user of Wascana Pool, and also a user of Maple Leaf pool. On hot days, the pools are so full that one cannot gain entry. Furthermore, I am against the proposed "waterpark" for Wascana Pool.

I have young children, and when we go, we have a fun time at the pool, exercise, and see a wide demographic of people. In contrast, at the spraypad, kids get less exercise, get bored sooner, adults get no exercise and only have fun through their kids, and you only see other people with young children. Spraypads are NO substitute for an outdoor pool. Kids don't learn to swim there.

One final comment - we have a farm near Milestone, and I've long remarked at how a small town like Milestone supports a nice outdoor pool, when huge Regina only has 5 outdoor pools. Shame!
