Please mandate a minimum 24 hour grace period (ideally 4 days to account for any holiday weekends/account issues), progressive overdrafts (every day your account is in the red charge $1 instead of $30+ one time, punishing those who actually neglect their finances), or a provisional overdraft which is refunded upon adding sufficient funds within 24-96 hours of going in the hole).

My o/d limit is $300.00, but I have had account balances as low as -800 dollars! -probably because me and my wife have been with them for many years (approx. 8 years) and both are paid direct deposit. Mine weekly-hers biweekly and we have always "caught up".
I have not seen the actual amont of o/d fees we've been charged, but I would say it easily exceeds $8000.00 per year. This is probably sounding like we are "slackers", but we both work late hours almost every day of the week and both of us being in sales, we are never certain of our exact pay, we live a week to week bill pay situation- are under threat of losing our home- our utilities etc.
We have three children in school and so, must also keep family heath ins. in force, that costs another $500.00 per month and both commute 25 miles to work every day, we have trouble keeping the pantry full and milk in the fridge. HELP

They could have paid the lessor charges first and I would have only been charged $74.00. There was a tax warrant delivered to the bank, so I had no way of knowing this account could have been overdrawn. This bank is actually holding on to the $98.00 tax money for 15 days. They could have e-mailed me telling me that I should make arrangements to cover this pending withdrawal within 5 days or face fees. They charged my account an additional $100.00 for S&P for that incident and didn't even try to minimize the damage. Quite the opposite, they made a total of $470.00 while the tax collector got $98.00( who made out on that deal.) I always make regular deposits in that account and have been with them from the start. I had more than enough to cover all charges in my account. I understand they should make a fee per mishap, but making this kind of money off the working people has got to stop.
