Anonymous, Glengowrie, Australia
We know of many children who would like to use this park, but can't because of the OVERWHELMING number of dogs that frequent this park. Dogs either knock small children over, take balls or break kites (our family has experience every one of these situations). Children are forced to use hard court area which is not very forgiving if you fall. Hazelmere is a wonderful open space to play cricket & fly kites just a block from our house, but we are forced to drive to another park-which also has dogs!

Anonymous
Council has mismanaged this whole affair. Space allocated for non dog use - totally insulting. We want a reasonable area to exercise in SAFELY and HYGIENICALLY. Who enforces 'effective control' anyway - not the council. We've been run at and knocked over by dogs. Balls have been stolen & ruined by dogs - their owners couldn't care less - they have an attitude of this is their space! They're the only ones who think it is a dog park.

Anonymous
We want our children to be able to use the park, without fear of dogs biting them or their balls. Also there is a fear of angst from dog owners that it is their park and they do not have to chare it. They also don't believe they have to have their dogs under effective control!!

Anonymous, Glengowrie, Australia
Friends of mine have been threatened and told to use other reserves just for kicking a ball around.... what a joke!! It isn't uncommon to see kids get knocked over by dogs at this reserve. The council insists it is not a dog park!! Well it isn't a people park either is it!!!! We can't even take our kids there and we live in the next street.

Anonymous, Glengowrie
In the general reserve 18,000m2 area you can't kick a footy, fly a kite, throw a ball or frisbee, you can't even jog because it is very dangerous as there are so many dogs running rampant off-leash. In the 'dog free' 2000m2 area you can't kick a footy, fly a kite, jog or throw a frisbee because there isn't enough room. The reserve is useless for popular general leisure activities!! The law that dogs can be off-leash if 'under effective control' is a joke! The council admit they can't police it!!
