We are in the process of purchasing the above property and were astounded to learn that such a huge development was being proposed on agriculatural land that provides a stunning aspect for anyone approaching Lower Largo. 70 houses is an extremely large 'estate' and will not be conducive to the aesthetic appeal of the area. From reading all the background information it sounds as if this proposal has been snuck through without fair and rigorous consultation. It is also not required for the area.

In this age of two car households 70X2 =140 !
Using a road that at present is difficult due to parked cars and poor sight lines caused by the breast of the brae. how will the children be protected? they must cross the road to reach the park. I have driven this road thousands of times since as I made this beautiful village the home for my family in 1966. Durham Wynd IS NOT FIT TO TAKE ANY MORE TRAFFIC>

In the recent past, planning permission was refused for the house at the foot of Bourtree Brae on grounds of traffic access/visibility. This was subsequently overturned on appeal. The traffic implications of this present project on the very same area are scales of ten greater than the reason given then; Bourtree Brae is currently a slalom course of parked cars. Due heed of this has clearly not been given - the street is NOT fit to carry an extra 100+ vehicles on a daily basis. Come and see

I and many others have to access the carpark at Durham Hall. This adds to the current traffic on Durham Wynd. Another 70 homes with at least 1 car each will make access very difficult and dangerous at peak times. Durham Wynd is a very narrow road and difficult to negotiate at the best of times.

As a small comunity the houses are obviously amained at commuter families. The obvious issues regarding this should be considered before granting consent.
Building of this development will require access for large construction vehicles into narrow residential roads and the subsequent potential safety issues.
It appears that the planning issues have been clouded and this may have been used to push this application through.

In Switzerland a lot of small schools (both primary and secondary) are having to close because of falling birth rates. How does the future look for Lundin Mill school bearing in mind that spending cuts will hit education too? If you realy want no new houses, then what you need is an enormous increase in road tax and tax on petrol, maybe 300 %, then commuting will be unattractive and then your aim of no new houses will be achieved. Tabu? Do you want to win? Get the Greens on board, thanks.

I do not think that this development is needed. I use Durham Wynd on a regular basis and can give testament to the fact that extreme caution has to be used. Accesss to the main road is challenging - particularly during rush hour and another 70 houses will just exacerbate the situation.

I concur with all the above reasons for my objections.
In addition I would suggest that Fife Council should be encouraging the building 'affordable' houses for young people and pensioners in areas where there is easy access to public transport (ie near Fife Regional Road, railway station etc.), rather than allowing developers to construct4/5 bedroom houses in a village without adequate infrastructure.
This plan has patently not been thought through.
