Although goats may seem unusual to some, these particular ones are pets, not your typical farm animals. I personally have a 10 foot boa constrictor that most people would never consider a pet. I have had her since she was a baby 14 years ago, and even had to hand feed her when she was small. I love her just as much as I love my dogs, so why should goats be any different. Melanie and Louie have taken the time to train them and make them pets. They don't belong on a farm, they belong at their home where they are very much loved and obviously well taken care of.

I watched via social media throughout her journey of first getting them until now and it could not be more apparent how wonderfully they are doing with their care. Platforms such as Facebook have posted about the local goats in their neighborhood-complimenting and giving kudos to this couple, their own neighbors, for caring so heavily over their unorthodox pets. As a guardian and foster parent of dozens of pets myself, I can say confidentially that I believe Melanie and Louis are not only capable, but also have the resources and means- which let's face it, is much more than most of the foster have should these goats be shunned from their home. I hope whoever reads this takes all outcomes into serious considerationand realize that there are more serious matters in the community of Boscawen NH than 4 happy, healthy, friendly, trained spoiled goats. They are indeed living an ideal life and the community is truly unbothered by their existence. I do believe this is in the best interest of these 4 creatures and do hope someone else in the deciding chair can see this too.
