Kimberly Moir, Apache junction, Az, United States of America
I am in Arizona and I am literally going through the exact same thing.. Same charge ..I was not guilty and asked to take it to trial, I was given one of the jokes of our system called a public defender, who was horrible and scared me from doing it saying I had no choice but to take the plea, this was in 1998. My charges are since dismissed but this is ruining my life. I'm not a criminal, or threat either. I deserve a chance too..I pray for us.the system is down right criminal. They are killing our future

Mr. Aaron Bilbrey, Aledo, Texas, United States of America
I believe it is in the best interest of the Courts of Colorado Springs, the great State of Colorado, likewise the free country of the United States of America, to grant Mrs. Brown a right to seal her criminal record. She deserves the chance to rectify her mistake by positively moving forward with a second chance at life and having hope for a brighter future.

She has one chance at life, not one chance in life.

God Bless...

I am in the same position, from being a promising student who was going to become a doctor, to a criminal, for nothing more than damaging a shed when I was 17, now there is no hope of me ever becoming a doctor...

I'd suggest something like this should be applied to Scot law also.

Mr Pierre Fransua, Westminster, Colorado, United States of America
Holding someone's non-violent criminal record against them for the rest of their lives is completely unfair! How many people in our government have ever had a drink, and then got behind the wheel of a car? I'll bet more than 90% of them. If this is you, you are just as guilty, you just didn't get caught!

Ms Monica Dromont, Littleton, Colorado, United States of America
Most court records should be sealed to the public - unless someone is working for top security based jobs. Crimes of murder and rape are quite different from a drug charge.
All too often, DA's are looking for a feather in their caps, making drug crimes part of their conviction "rate" to impress the voters. This contributes to greater recidivism in the population rather than offering a real solution or other mechanisms for change.

Dr. M. Frances Koziol, Chicago, IL, United States of America
I too was unaware of the stigma associated with any type of drug related charges and retrobution sentencing or deffered probation imposed by the court system. These stigma endanger the lives of good people who just want to live a law-abiding life and put the past behind them - in order to do this the system of justice must become more compassionate. Restriction of employment can only create the potential for increased crime - thereby creating an endless cycle. Keep this info sealed!

melani White, Denver, Co, United States of America
In most other States, a person with only 1 conviction is eligible to have their records sealed. But Colorado has to be different. You are eligible to have your records sealed ONLY if:
• you were not charged;
• the case against you was completely dismissed; or
• you were acquitted of all charges.
This is too harsh. How can a mother take care of her family if she cannot get a job. Run background search on your own record to see what is showing to employers. http://backgroundsearch.com
