Ms Karen Harrison, Manchester
Education is the most important factor for the development of the person and society. As the population expands so should the education sector at all levels. Instead education provision is being cut. Funding grants are diminishing and people are now having to fight for an education ...from Primary School age........the 21st century...getting back to the early 19th where position and money were the only way to ensure an education, this is shameful.

Anonymous, Stockport
My child has not been allocated a school despite him attending our pre school for a year he is the only one out of nursery not to get a place as the boundary was changed mid year and we are now 10 houses out of catchment yet children who live further away are classed as in catchment because of the way the shape of the boundary has changed! We now have to go to a school that is only classsed as satisfactory when he has been attending an outstanding school. If children gain a place at a pre school they should automatically move up with their class to reception save all the heartache and stress to the child my little boy is distraught and as a parent I can do nothing to change this my appeal was unsuccesful! Absolutely disgusting!!!

The system stinks and the criteria rules need reviewing FAST! Why knock 3 perfectly good schools down in my area leaving 750 kids with no school and NO chance of winning a school appeal even with proof of maladministration. This is damn right cruel and to our children, how do we explain to them they can no longer go to school with their peers, of which they have spent the last 12 months building friendships with! The education system in the country has gone mad!! Every child has a right to a decent education. Why are we given the option to chose a prefered school when in fact we dont have a choice and the LEA response to this is "Tough" you get what your given" This just IS NOT good enough especially for the children that havent been allocated ANY school at all. WISE UP BRITAIN AND GET THIS TOP OF THE AGENDA AND GET IT SORTED!! These kids are our future and they are the ones that will be running the country when we are drawing our pensions! Give them the education they deserve!

They need to get these things right for the sake of the childrens continuity and well being and forget about trying to save face by denying there has been a fault in this system.
MR DAVID STURTIVANT, salford, United Kingdom
I think that the government should take a long hard look at the schooling process. I may sound extreme but children can suffer a lot mentally in the future by being passed from school to school. Purely because the government don't know what they are doing!! It's not fair and a disgrace!!

Ms Lyndsay Firth, Salford, United Kingdom
My online application seemingly crashed/was lost & as a result my son has not been given a place at the school I applied for, which I might add he already attends. My appeal was refused due to class size, which is a joke. Why ask parents to go through the stress of an appeal when clearly the parent has no chance against the biased system!? The issues I highlighted were not taken into consideration, even though I had further proof of their poor management of administration & a witness to say I did submit the form. Their arguement was, that I hadn't pressed submit! Although I was successful and fully capable to register myself on their system, they strongly suggested that I'm not computer literate enough to press SUBMIT!?? I am very distressed about the online application process & feel it has let me & my son down in a big way! There are no provisions in place for the system letting parents & children down. A cap should be put on how far people are travelling to school & where demand calls for it, build enough schools to accomodate those children in the areas that need it! Once you apply to a school you should automatically have a place there regardles of age. Makes sense!
