The ones who made the decision did not take environmental concerns into account and now the soil and water is contaminated from chemical fracking that is used to get to the oil. Why weren't tribal members able to vote on oil? Why did the Turtle Mountain tribe ban fracking? Because water is worth more than oil any day.
