However, I had a goal and my goal was to complete my OCS. Due to incompetence on the behalf of a certian NCO I was forced to be discharged for having not completed my training on time. I was told that I could reenlist in 6 months which I did. However, while waiting on the paperwork to go up the chain of command they raised the age limit on me. The SSGT consulted with a MAJ onhow to handle this. It was decided that my paperwork had not reached the "point of no return" as of yet so they said the new age restricition would apply to me; keeping me out. Not only was I robbed of the chance of becomming an officer in the United States Army but now I was having my chance to become an NCO or Warrant Officer taken now to. I am able bodied and can still pass my APFT. While in, I joined at 34, I could out push, out sit up out march and out perform academically all of the younger troops. ( they did get me on the running though) I am still that way at 39 and want my chance to go back in to the reserves to see what difference I can make for my family and my country

I did not take advantage of serving my country earlier when I was raising a family,etc.; but I would jump at the chance to serve my country now.

Please raise the age limitations on joining the military.
