When you ask the catering staff about something they actvas if you have asked them to commit murder. The college needs to get With the times. There are many other colleges and unis that provide for vegans.

Also the understanding of what vegetarian actually is would be good as I saw something with tuna labelled as vegetarian the other day - which it is not. It makes me worry that they may not know what vegan is if they don't know what vegetarian is.

Both of my close friends on my course have various dietary requirements, and healthy options are not really a choice. I know that the costa in the foyer charges extra for alternative milk options, which I don't think is fair.

Try finding something gluten and dairy free here! Also polystyrene containers and plastic cutlery, PLASTIC FREE. Why not have catering students run the restaurant or newly qualified catering students to run it? Vegan options, non fried or processed food. Keep the menu simpler with a couple of nutritious home made soups and a selection of fresh salads, hot ones in winter cold ones in summer?

This year, while ordering the Herby tomato pasta which was vegan, I was served one with meat in it, which I ate some of before realising.
On most days, there is no vegan option except chips or the pasta, which I no longer choose to get as I had been served a meat one previously.
I don't think it is acceptable to only have the option of chips for food every day.
