I have lived in Miners Rest for over 36 years. The first 33 were pleasant and peaceful. Then STATA Learner Piloted flights came low over my home in droves. 2 to4 flights per day were replaced by over 100 per day often until 11 PM and flights in the middle of the night. My life style in and around my home has been ruined and it seems that it will get worse with commercial jets on extended runways and more factories in our area. I am often afraid with planes stalling overhead then restarting.

It is unconscionable that council have allowed the establishment of a school for training commercial airline pilots over residential areas. There was no consultation with residents then and there is still no transparent consultation with residents regarding the aerodrome expansion, the industrial rezoning and freight hub, or the four-lane arterial road through residential neighbourhoods. Council should be ashamed about every step of the process.

My quality of life has been seriously compromised by the constant circling, AT LOW LEVEL, of the planes from the STATA pilot training school. I have personally witnessed near mid-air collisions on more than one occasion & no longer feel safe in my own home

Are council going to reimburse our property values?????. We purchased 6 yrs ago due to the quiet area & increased property values expected. We now have planes flying over all hrs day & night, as a common courtesy you don't mow your lawn before 10am on Sundays, this doesn't apply to air traffic. Surely property owners & rate payers should be consulted before any future developments are planned which affect the quality of living in Alfredton!!!
