I toured the gallery, met artists, attended the art walk venue and had the opportunity to observe Martha in her work setting, her interaction with the local artists, and her interaction with members of the Key West community. As an artist myself and the organizer and chairperson of an award winning 18 year Festival of the Arts in Oregon, I could see the enthusiasm, passion and committment Martha had for her work. I observed her effective interaction with co workers, artists, and members of the community in addition to hearing about the specific successfull work activites she did for TSKW which helped the organization grow. My observations led to the conclusion she was doing an outstanding job.

While an organization is certainly free to terminate an employee, to blindside an employee without any written evaluation, notice of an existing problem, or provision of a termination package is extremely unfair if not contrary to fair employment practices and possibly illegal.
