If you have ever been to the ship docks or to cruise terminals you know how nasty the water is in that area. I also know that when I go on a cruise I spend my money on the cruise ship not at the area that the ship is docked. My family heritage goes back generations in Mayport & the fishing community. I agree that something needs to be done in Mayport , like a boardwalk?, but not a cruise ship.

As a matter of fact, they are a drain on the local economy as they force the locals to shore up their infrastructures as well as congest their highways and roads. The only people who gain from these terminals are the owners of the ships and the local politicians.
The aquatic life suffers, the waters become more polluted, the air as well. They promote hedonism.
