I objected the last time an application went in for a similar planning application and it was turned down flat.
The area of pasture land is liable to flooding and any development on the land would exacerbate the situation. There would be a massive increase of vehicles going in both directions along roads that can not cope with that volume. The proposes roundabout would create a bottleneck which would create congestion into and out of Llantwit town.
The footpath going down into Llantwit Town centre is hazardous currently and In places pedestrians have to walk into the road often blindly. Further traffic would create more hazards for people on foot. As a mother myself I have experienced how dangerous it is walking with young children . More traffic would compound this situation making the it impossible for families to walk safely in both directions.
The wildlife in the area would be destroyed by the land being developed, why develop green farm land when there are more suitable areas elsewhere.
The town facilities would not be able to cope with such a development.

Importantly, unless the storm drainage in the area is redesigned and overhauled - something the Vale authorities, with their usual ineptitude and incompetence, have signally failed to do - the good people of Boverton face yet more horrendous flooding and destruction of their properties. I fully understand the need for new housing stock but this development is simply on the wrong side of Llantwit Major. This side of Lantwit is prone to flooding and means that any cars that would enter and leave the town centre would do so via the old town and the roads simply cannot cope with more traffic.

Of course the wider issue as well is the impact on the road network surrounding Llantwit Major. Unless the local council can guarantee that spending will be increased to repair the dire state of the roads then adding more traffic to them will undoubtedly put more pressure on these roads.

We completely agree with the objections you raise and would add a few more.

1. If this development is allowed then we are sure that other farms in the area will take advantage of this method of raising money and we will see further development which will completely destroy this historic and much values part of Llantwit Major.

I have heard on the grape-vine that in Troeos Persimon built a much smaller group of houses. According to their initial plans so many were to be earmarked for 'social' needs. However once they achieved planning permission they drew up their final plans which did not include the 'social ' element. I stress that this is hearsay and I have no proof of what actually happened. However, if litigation is entered into this may be a possible avenue for investigation.
