An earthquake in the N. Pacific can trigger a wave that will flood this site to a depth of several feet, drowning some and releasing other to do untold harm to young and old alike. Not the Palmer police, Alaska state troopers, or prison gaurds can control them.

We have 4 kids and enjoy the safety and beauty of Palmer, not to mention the slow pace cohesiveness of our community. Why destroy my children's home? What purpose does it serve to ruin a safe small town with a monstrosity of a prison? This is a bad move economically and socially. There are plenty of other places in Alaska where this prison could be put. Try an island down south where there are no communities-not my home!

How about some consideration for the residents of the Palmer area? It is our property values that will decrease and our safety that will be jeapordized if one of the "guests" of this prison manages to escape. The propenents of the prison have said new homes and jobs will be created; they will still be created by a prison built somewhere more remote like 20 miles north of Palmer.
