I am also a senior and terrified of having to cross Franklin Boulevard by foot once they put up the roundabouts there. It is bad enough to cross at Clyde and Franklin now for young people with the present traffic lights which are not on long enough. I don't think they care about the old and disabled which is why they plan for roundabouts.

why not install signalized cross walks at safe distances from the roundabouts.

I have been waiting for this discussion to happen! As someone who doesn't drive and walks to Ira needles frequently, my family and I cross/jay walk just before the roundabout out of fear!!! People are not even watching their speed, let alone pedestrians! It is almost a given that someone will get hurt, or even worse, killed. I hope that something can be done before that point comes.

Roundabouts are unsafe for pedestrians. I don't understand why no one is suing the city of Kitchener yet. They clearly did not think the issues of what roundabouts would cause.

In light of all the accidents that have happened at the roundabout and people getting hit by cars I dont think that putting in the roundabout was such a good Idea when is the region going to relise this when someone gets killed? It is unsafe.

Roundabouts ARE safe Pedestrians need to learn how to cross a road. The roads are for vehicles NOT feet so just DON'T step out and think a vehicle WILL stop for you. Learn some road sense.
