Hi my name is Paris,

I have been going thru the process of IVF for the past several years as i am a gene carrier for the Huntingtons disease and i am unable to have children by using my eggs, i am 38YOA and it is getting harder to have children.

I have been on your site and found it very impressive regarding to lower the fees for people that are struggling with the fertility costs.
I believe this is a great cause - i am definately referring.

Please, please, please lower the cost of IVF. Three years ago we had a successful IVF treatment cycle and now have a gorgeous little girl. We had been having fertility treatment for six years. Our daughter is the light of our lives and we would dearly love to have another child. For us, this will not happen as long as the cost of IVF stays so high. We have spent so much already and have sacrificed our house in order to conceive our little girl. Please help us.

It's hard enough to be told that you'll never conceive children the 'normal' way to then be hit with bills that can lead into the thousands for each treatment. Take care of those who need it, not everyone has the financial means to pay for this. Most people have to consider 'can we afford a family'. we have spent over $50,000 to no success, we got very little of that back from medicare.
We redrew on home loan and little of super but cannot afford to continue down that road.
it's bad enough we can't conceive naturally and even worse that we can't afford to do it artificially.

This is hard enough to bear without the stress of massive upfront financial payments and the possibility of increases in fees in the near future. I have had success with IVF last year after 12 months & 6 cycles. Unfortunately we lost our 2 little twin girls at 20 weeks gestation. Our initial appointment which was a meet and greet with the doctor we sat in the office whilst she printed up requests for blood tests and ultrasound, this cost $350!!!! and we waited 3 months for this appointment.
I work full time and only earn $460 per week and now have to pay for all these tests.
Why are they allowed to take advantage of the desperate heartboken couples who are longing for a child?

i beleve that there should be a medicare rebate on PDG as they test for deformities that will eventrully cast the government more if born, the original testing cost. I beleive that people in the situation that myself and my wife are in deserve more financial assistance from the Federal Government, we beleive that the baby bonus should be scrapped in favour of more funding to offset IVF costs, as I have personally seen the baby bonus not benefitting the child in a large proportion of cases, it would also stop the younger generation trying to get pregnant as thet only see the dollar signs in having a baby and this should not be the reason people have children.

There are currently so many bonuses for people with families. what about those struggling to start a family. We do not get those bonuses, living day to day as well as paying $2200.00 per month for an IUI cycle.

The government encourage you to have one child for you, one for your husband and one for the country, try that when conceiving one child costs nearly $10,000!
