Prohibition does not work, this has been obvious since Al Capone rose to power in the 1920s in America. Can the Irish Government really be so ignorant that they refuse to aknowledge the answer to the question 'Is Prohibition working?' has been right under their nose for 90 years? And that that answer is clearly 'No.'? I certainly hope not.

Suger is the gateway drug. Addicted to one drug or another my whole life. Wish I could just pay to be perscribed my drug of choice, I would tollerate a harsh regime of screening to prove non-abuse. Wish i was free from the control of criminal scum. Many European countries have decriminalised why are we always last.

i think legalization of herbal cannabis, cannabis reisin and magic mushrooms would benifit the country greatly. they both grow naturally on earth so to have them illegalized is like saying god made a mistake. controlled sale of cannabis would benefit the countrys economy immensly and would also slash crime rate.. if your at a bar and someone is loud, odnauctious and violent, then they are more likley drunk rather than "stoned"

I am not a user of recreational drugs (in fact im a pharmacologist working in a national university) but agree that legalisation would ultimatly benefit the country. Safer drugs will be consumed; thus reducing overdose admissions to hospitals. Violent drug warmonger on the streets of waterford, limerick and dublin will come to an end...and importantly taxation would increase funds for the government to spend on the health and education services. Please please consider this option.

Legilisation of class C drugs/sports performance enhancing drugs should indefinitely be legalized. However if recreational drug use cripples the working ability of an individual in the work place they should be displaced to rehab and work in order to pay the fees to stay in rehab or else face a jail sentence. A 3 strike system. Steroids on the other hand are harmless. Controversial innacurrate stigmas have been associated with them for so long. People who clinically assessed mentally have right.

At first thought legalizing mind altering drugs would seem like an incredabily stupid thing to do, but no it would be an extremly brave thing fro the irish goverment to do. most people in Ireland would steer clear from drugs as they do now, we need proper education around narcotics in our schools, but this looks like the only way your going to get rid of these animals that roam our streets. we the people of ireland need to stand up and let our voices be heard!!!
