If pupils have to sweat then make teachers sweat too! I have heard that some of the female staff come to school in "vest" tops, talk about adding insult to injury!
Kettlethorpe must be the only school in the area to have such an insane policy (barring QUEGS) Crofton and Thornes wear polo shirts only, I'm sure their standards and behaviour are not suffering. I have told my son to ask if he can remove his jumper and if told no then go see Mr Griffiths.

Presumably, I received similar assurances to yourselves. It disappoints me that things don't seem to have moved on the way I was assured. One can assume that policies are not being made explicit by senior management, or staff are choosing to, or unable to act appropriately.

As my children are in Year 11, and moving on to pastures new, they won't have this issue to contend with.

Regarding thermometers in classrooms I do not believe this is the answer, as every child has a different tolerance to heat.

It appears the headteacher is way out of touch with the depth of feeling on this issue ,when he can state that " only a minority of parents are against the compulsary wearing of jumpers"
