I no longer hike the Mountains to Sea Trail or enjoy the Blue Ridge Parkway because of motorcycle noise. This noise is unnecessary as evidenced by some motorcycles that are as quiet as automobiles. When dining outdoors in downtown Asheville, my experienced is sometimes shattered by the awful rumble of a Harley Davidson. Lets stop the unnecessary and very rude racket.

At festivals we expect the sounds of music and many people gathering. However, the sounds of motorcyles and cars with deliberate loud sounds is disburbing. Loud parties that go on into the night disburb the sleep essential for good health.

It was imperative and made a huge difference in general level of 'livability' of the city, as well as stress levels and pollution. Noise is a by-product of our industrial, technological age- but there needs to be degrees and levels determined. All of the finest cities have very clear Noise Codes. We need it too.

It is very discouraging to almost fall off a curb when a motorcycle starts up its unmufflered, illegal motor...with a police station, police cars, policemen all within view. Nobody does a thing....is this not what they are paid for? Is our city council not responsible for communicating our wishes, rights, needs to the different agencies?

It's been the Jerry Springer show ever since. It's legal to destroy the peacefulness of a community by cursing, staring, revving engines and other absurd high school behavior. They bought a house from an old woman with dementia for 1/4th of its real value, and other neighbors contacted authorities -- a friend of the elderly woman even wrote a letter to everyone. Nothing could be done.
