It's a natural treasure to Austin, I know, but I have enjoyed it walking my dog there so it's a natural treasure to me and friends who have taken our dogs there. Here's a place where a dog and it's owner can be in a natural setting. Also, I always make sure to pick up any of his poop and encourage others to do so, because I don't want to hurt the environment. I also have carried out other bags when they are left on the trails by others.

We've been going there regularly since she was 6 weeks old. There's no other dog park like BC: my dog can run around off leash, romp and play in the water, chase rocks and tennis balls as far as I can throw them, run & play w/other dogs, & the people there are very friendly too. I can't believe the city thinks it needs to be closed for several months to do $200,000 in renovations, in the name of making it 'safer' for people. It's a DOG park!

I would like to see a phased approach where only the areas directly and absolutely need repair / upgrade are closed only during the actual upgrade/repair.
Challenger park in Houston is an example of this. They have been upgrading/maintaining it for years on a picemeal/phased approach successfully. Look at their example of how to take care of a park and learn.

The whole thing, including the dog pakt. But a large part of the beauty of the creek and the park is that they haven't been "improved". The natural beauty of the terrain, the rock bluffs and waterfalls are what make the creek area special. It is one of the few dog parks with water access on the west side of the city. I live off Loop 360 and love to go hike Bull Creek with and without my german shepherds. Leave Barton Creek for leashes and Bull Creek leash free.

The concern over E Coli is understood & appreciated but with education that part of the argument can be removed.

I am far more concerned about the E Coli issues generated by the city waste water malfunctions that don't seem to be the real focal point.
