How has Dennis got on.
Long shot,I am from east ham E6 and from 1990 to 2000/1 I was a refuse loader for Newham and very close to Mr kett and knew him during his rather corrupt transfer to management via John wild and strings pulled.
I ask out of interest as I was myself demoted ,nearly sacked but made a scapegoat over Xmas gratuity taking and accused of kicking a door in ,at capel rd e7 with no fair listen or help ,lies,bullying corruption went on in that depot,micro managerial tactics and threats causing anxiety and myself a reason to drink,I accept times were different,but the actions of them and us and fact of the accuser being found a liar and arrested for gbh and theft before my joke of a disciplinary causing Steve Clough,Kevin o Leary ,and the rest of Folkestone roads Gestapo to apologise to me and drop the procedure destroyed my Xmas I lost forever the trust in company work,I eventually could no longer bear the threats,ignorance, attitude and general bad management of this farcial unit and October 2000 just left..end of..I can provide extreme reasons and names dates stories etc that prove basically the today's type of refuse management is not far removed from quarter century ago,playing with lives and minds of the ordinary out trying to do what most won't..tbh if anyone needs sacking I would have looked at the corrupt hypocritical bully narcissistic nature of Newham's management procedure which started to arise about 93/94...
I think many from past on Newham would agree this was the norm and whilst I am angry at them I am also thankful to them for helping me to pull socks up,get a trade,go college,find my confidence and stop the drink culture...only wish I could help stop the bullying ..with care correct attitude and managerial skills refuse could be a great job for life...I hope this clarifies the non change and usual behaviours of the company and that Dennis and others are ok and protected from this...I may add it's good they all kept together for him .in ,97;I was accused by kangaroo court ,left hanging,in bits,and as said...if their star witness not found a thieg prob would hot sack also..all to prove a point of no gratitude Xmas .let's pick on the young anxious one...and my old driver and loader mate Mr kett became this way when wheedled his self into job with a bad back ...yeah right..I know truth..we once drank together..bad back out on sick paid..doing scaffolding...
