We don't want the same to Iran.
There are many possible actions.

Some preventive actions can be taken by Iran itself. Iran can ensure that some of the developed countries have business interest in not destroying Iran. Once, that is ensured, those developed countries will not support such actions (those actions taken of Iraq)
Iran should encourage United Nations's presence in Iran by taking them into confidence. This is better than other options now.
