I myself owned 2 pit bulls, I lost my beloved Meeka this passed summer to bone cancer @ 12 yrs old. My heart has a hole... This breed are people dogs, the suffer from separation anxiety because all they want to do is be with you, people! You treat anything or anyone with hatred and it will give you hatred back. Simple. But along with agreeing with that I also say the BSL should end because it is also wrong via it's automatic grouping of this and others breeds. Pit bulls are deemed as "dangerous" or "vicious and/or restricted" automatically. Even if your dog is licensed with your city and it happens to escape the fines are hefty compared to others. Other breeds are given a price cut if they are licensed in Nanaimo ex. 1st time licensed -$50/ 1st time unlicensed - $150 but a pit bull is 1st time vicious or restricted - $500!! 2nd and 3rd times increase by $50 and then double for other dogs but pit bulls 2nd time is $1000 and it shows no 3rd time. It incredibly discriminatory #1 and #2 unfair. Deem an animal vicious or dangerous because it has been not because of it's breed !!
