Oswald Msamali, Lilongwe, Central Province, Malawi
I also support federalism as a system of government in Malawi. This will ensure the sharing of political power between the central (national) government and the local (state) government which will entail power and people are not abused by the political leadership at all times. As such, the national government will only exercise delegated powers. The local/state government will exercise reserved powers whereas concurrent powers will be a responsibility for both the state and the national governments. Overall, federalism will bring government closer to the people and this is amenable to ensuring that governments craft and implement only those policies that promote and do not antagonise people's welfare and the common good.

Brian Nyasulu, Lilongwe, Malawi, China
If President Peter Mutharika says he is open for discussion, why send Vuwa kaunda to meet chiefs only?
Can people from central region please volunteer contact names that can coordinate this important discussion as we start, let's all start together. Eventually it will not be the north or central regions that will be affected by his process it will Malawi as a whole, so my point is let southern come forward. They must not be driven by coward ness and pretend they will not be affected.
I suggest experts on federal issues should come forward so we allocate forums where debates will take place, in this case 28th September 2014 in Mzuzu. They will help define federal, secession and independence issues before commencement of debates. Then citizenry can debate from an informed point of view.
Major point on all above is governance, resources, health, education, public works, our women and youth many more. So good people lets us approach his process with sober minds as well as clear objectives. I feel sorry when Vuwa kaunda and government have a one sided apprehension of the matter.
