The perpetrators should be fined and their cars impounded. Check their cars for other faults as well. They should also be fined to not drive for 6 months until they can show they can read with comprehension. How dont they understand a sign which is so self explanatory? If they don't see the sign, they should not have lisences. Blind people should not drive at all. Give the the "blind" perpetrators a blue disability sign and take away their lisences for 5 years. Then when they would like to drive again in 5 years, they should have their eyes tested first. And of course, shown that they can read and adhere to road signs.

yes the security guards think you are at fault when you complain to them. people are abusing the parking bays because nothing is been done about it

I have sent a number of pictures of people parking in the disabled and Newcastle mall has done nothing to these people. I hope this petition works and stops these idiots from using these parking bays. They are not above the law. Lets show them the law.

For disabled people visit malls and public places can be extremely difficult, there is often extra space required to exit the vehicle as wheelchairs or crutches need to be placed next to the door of the vehicle. This is not a convenient close parking or a privilege for a disable person, it is a necessity. OAbled bodied persons have the priveledge of being able to walk and at most are inconvenienced by a meter or 2. There should be extreme penalties instituted for people who do not consider disabled people. Disabled people have the right to shop just like everyone else and this should not be made difficult or impossible by selfish people who are in all honesty lazy and inconsiderate.

From the evidence observed it would appear that the condition at the mall is "encouraged" due to the lack of control and enforcement of relevant traffic rules at the mall.
It's time that those managing the mall, step up and take those responsible for enforcing the rules to task.

I was asked by security to leave the premises after asking some people illegally parked as to why they park in the bays that are not designated for them. 5 security guards were ready to forcibly remove me from the premises and I was told I am not allowed there again. I find this a display of disrespect for disabled people and when making a stand against what is wrong I get treated in this way.
