I remember smelling a sample whilst in Rackhams department store in Birmingham (possibly 1977), I knew I loved it straight away. I paid £1 as it was an opening offer for a small bottle. I was a student with very little money, but I went back and bought 2 more bottles. Since that time I have always worn perfume but have a bit of a snobbish attitude towards celebrity ones. The problem with celebrity, is it can be so fleeting. You don't know what you are buying. There is little brand loyalty in the classic sense. It's unfortunate, but I no longer think of Max Factor as a destination for perfume and that is a shame. I take Max factor mascara and lipstick and nail varnish seriously, it's marketed well I know why and when I want to use it. It entices me to want to use it even when I might not need it. Why can't this be done for a perfume such as Geminesse. Having said all this I haven't smelt Geminesse for a very long time (decades) and maybe my nostalgic yearnings for it aren't in keeping with how my olfactory receptors may have changed over the years.
