She lost twice so why the party thinks that she will win the next time. She can be a great influence on the party still and do excellent work without being a grumbly face in the media all the time. The party will definately have an advantage is she steps down, I hate to say it. Also I've never liked the picture of her on the NDP site, and no one got back to me when I politely suggested changing it to a smiling one.
