]]> Wed, 29 Oct 2014 11:06:08 UTC 18080081 https://www.gopetition.com/signature/locate/18080060?utm_medium=rss i loved selling on ebay until the extremely negative environment developed in the aftermath of an apparent change in how this company values it's sellers. i was a top seller with 100% positive feedback until the new "defect" policy was instituted in a "one size fits all manner". some merchandise is more likely to be returned than others (clothes vs batteries), and any deal that is not completed is a "defect". shipping "verification" does not account for the time a package sits in a post office until it is scanned in, even when there is proof it arrived beforehand. i've reported foreign sellers who advertise that their items are located in the U.S. so they show up on searches, when the items are in the other countries, shipped to a mail box in the u.s. (one to a rotor rooter shop) and then scanned in and mailed from there. they still have their top seller rating despite the week or so before the item shows up on tracking. someone at the top of the company is really, really stupid.

just because customer is not in a good mood that day and give us (sellers) bad reviews and bad feedback we lost alot of business and loose our motivation to sell anymore, and surprisingly ebay do not do a small thing to go through the fact and just keep taking the customers side eventhough they are not right. i lost tons and tons of business and got kicked out of top rated seller, therefor i really feel like they are absusing the sellers and just taking their customers side instead of doing the right thing. im signing this petion so bad, and not sure how far this will go, but a smallest thing i do, makes me a little more motivated to continue my online business. cause i ca not get on my feets again with all their non sense policy and procedures. please help us!

I tracked the package, communicated with the customer, and even refunded her money in full. I can't imagine what more I could have done in a situation that was beyond my control. But I still got the defect.
Applying penalties to sellers in cases like this isn't just unfair, it also defies logic! In my case, should a situation like this re-occur, I would be far less inclined to go to such lengths in the name of customer service. Ebay argues that the new policies hold sellers to higher standards.....and I'm okay with that! But the system is seriously flawed. Ebay has to rethink it, or I see the policies as potentially having the opposite effect of what was intended.
PLEASE TAKE ANOTHER LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE, EBAY. Policies have to be logical and equitable if they are to succeed. Those currently in place are neither.

We demand to be treated fairly. If we can prove our case but the buyer cannot, we should win our case. Not the other way around! Cases should not strictly be decided in the buyer's favor without a good investigation, looking at all evidence provided from the buyers and sellers. I have gone through many frustrating expereriences with EBay concerning false claims and it has affected me emotionally. I now cringe every time I see an email for that small chance that it will be a buyer who either didn't read my description, view the pictures properly or wants to make false accusations because of buyer's remorse. Please protect us against abusive buyers!
