To start off this petition, we go back to 10 odd years ago when the bank was in its prime. Beautiful green grass, a sandy beach for the kids to play on and out boats a safe place to pull up. Now, as the result of a tree being removed Apprx 8 years ago, the grass has been destroyed and never to return, resulting in the bank to deteriorate overtime. At least 10m of the bank has been pushed back towards the car park, tree roots are exposed and very dangerous. Something needs to be done!
This petition has been written to put forward to the coucil on behalf of the river lovers who adore younghusband.
We need change. But most of all need it to be a safe place for everyone who comes to younghusband. Which is also why we need a to put forward a speed limit change and or a 25km crossing for pedestrians to cross safely to public toilets and general store. Particularly our young children. Before we see something tragic happen.
In regards to bank, A team of professional landscapers have offered to donate their time into repairing and revamping what needs to be done, however can't make this happen until council approve and provides the funding needed to put it all in place.
So sign the line and let's get our much loved riverbank fixed before it's gone .
