Everyone should have access to fully enjoy our beaches. By putting in specialised matting across the sand, both children and adults in wheelchairs will also have access to the beach/sand and access into the sea.

As you are more than aware, the Redcliffe Peninsula has some of the best beaches for families to enjoy, but there is one thing that is sorely lacking and that is wheelchair access to the water so that those with disabilities can enjoy the beach and the ocean. The Redcliffe beaches, especially those of Suttons Beach and Pelican Point areas are the perfect spot to become wheelchair access beaches as not only are they currently used by local and Brisbane based families but also due to the fact that the beaches are calm due to the position of Moreton Island.
There is a company who specialised in beach access matting and it is available for as little as $2850 although this depends on the width and length of the matting that would be required. The company is available to do free quotes of the beach in order to give an estimation of the price. I have included their website for your perusal: http://pushmobility.com.au/shop/mobi-mat-beach-access-matting.

We, the undersigned wish to acknowledge our support to have wheelchair access on Redcliffe Beaches (Sutton's Beach and Pelican Point) in the form of specialised matting across the sand giving access to both the beach and sea..
