I am writing in request that you consider a 5 point Veteran Preference point for all individuals who served in a branch of the armed services which participated in the war or conflict during which the applicant served at least ninty (90) days of active duty during a period of time when Congress of the United States formally declared a state of War or when Joint Chief of Staff authorized issuance of a campaign badge for the service in a campaign or expedition in which the President committed military personnel.

Veteran preference has existed as far back 1865 near the end of the Civil War when on March 3rd 1865, Congress passed legislation giving hiring preference in government jobs to veterans honorably discharged due to wounds or sickness incurred in the line of duty. As the challenges become so evident for our Iraq and Saudi Arabian Veterans with the overwhelming need for assistance. Its become much a need for those vets who have been doing Radiology but also been been locked in a hummer with gun fire and car bombs overhead every night.

It's little to give that could mean so much for thousands of Veterans serving our military. The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist already acknowledges courses given by the military as prerequirements of eligibility so our Veterans coming out of the military after 4 years of service are ready to test or are working on testing, We really need this !

We as individuals acknowledging the overwhelming need for help for our Veterans are asking that the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist give 5 veteran preference points to any Veteran taking an exam provided by the society of Radiographers in any modality.
