On September 30th, 2013, a Cambodian woman, named Sum Sreymao, was interviewed at the United States Embassy in Phnom Penh, regarding her non-immigrant visa application.

Her request to visit America was denied, without due consideration and despite documentation including a letter of recommendation from a credible American who has spent the past two years in dedicated, overseas service to the United States and its people. Refusal to issue a non-immigrant visa to Sum Sreymao is wrongful, as it is against the will and well-being of those very Americans served.

May this petition demonstrate, through a small sample, that it is indeed the will of our people to invite Sum Sreymao to visit America from December, 2013, to January, 2014.

We wish to meet her, to learn about her culture, and to share ours with her as our guest. It is in our own interests for Sum Sreymao to respect the terms of her non-immigrant visa and not to overstay its limits. We will do all in our power to guide her during her brief stay in America, and to send her safely and promptly home to Cambodia.

By our collective voice, may this petition demonstrate our belief that Sum Sreymao's intended activities in the United States are consistent with the classification of non-immigrant visa for which she has applied. Please heed our request, approve the new application for a tourist visa made by Sum Sreymao in October, 2013, and issue that visa without delay.

We, the undersigned, call on the government of the United States of America, specifically the US Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to approve the request for a non-immigrant visa made by Sum Sreymao in October, 2013.
