We like to believe that depression is something that only happens to other people , but in fact, over 300 million people are living with depression
.Governments are spending billions of money on 'healthcare' and neglecting depression which is the leading cause of ill health and disability worldwide.

Depression carries a high risk of suicide. The latest example; In August alone,20 young people aged 25-35 years were reported to have committed suicide in Nakuru district,Kenya. This must NOT have happened. It would have been prevented. This are our parents, brothers and sisters. Nobody can distance themselves from this monster we call depression. It is a major contributor to the overall global burden of disease , is preventable and can also be treated.

“Suicidal girl set Moi Girls School on fire killing 9 students“. This is still the shocking news on most of the media platforms in Kenya.“She will definitely face charges in court once the investigation is completed,” says one of the officers. The reports indicate the girl had attempted to commit suicide twice before. This kind of cases should not be happening. They are becoming very common and immediate action to educate the public that suicidal thoughts are mental illnesses and this kind of people need help instead should be done. .

10th September 2017 is World Suicide Prevention Day.What will be done different this year to make the difference?
