Many third year students following the physics and astronomy disciplines are being asked to take all eight of their modules, most of which are compulsory, within ten days of each other. Not only this, but also at the beginning of the examination period.

We believe this to be unfair as most students on other courses of a similar structure, such as mathematics, have their exams spread out over a 4 week period. Given that half of the modules are compulsory, the fact that we were only given one month’s notice of the timetable and that since the exams start less than a week from the start of term our lecturers cannot give us revision sessions, we believe that the schedule is unjust and should be reconsidered.

There is no reason why these exams could not be more spread out; we finish on the 11th May when the examination season lasts into June!

We, the undersigned, call upon the University College London to reconsider the examination timetable to take into consideration the unfair date allocation of these examinations.
