Support an Ultra 16mm Service

As a loyal customer of FotoKem Film Lab based of Burbank, CA, I, Marco Montenegro, would like the Board of Directors of this very company, to consider based on signatures below, the possibility to start an ultra 16mm workshop, since this format became largely popular among indie filmmakers.

My personal experience with FotoKem, has been great:
communication, quality and professionalism are unmatched with any other lab i had to work with, therefore i believe that FotoKem should seriously consider starting it, because based of my personal research, it is a matter of just getting ultra 16 telecine gate and nothing else!

This film format will allow indie filmmakers to shoot on 16mm stock and be able to blow it up in 1.85:1 ratio without ANY extra cost.

Pros vs cons are definitely in favor of filmmakers. The only con is that conversion of camera gate will run you around $600 or less,and it is done here, locally in Las Vegas area, by Mr. Guy Bodart, can be done within a 10 days. IF this is a con!

However pros are:
-No re-centering of a lens is needed, like for super 16;
-Shoot 16, get 35mm for the same amount of money, as you shot regular 16;
-You can go back and forth and shot U16 and R16 as you wish;
-It gives you "CinemaScope" look,and especially if you place marking tape on ground glass, you can definitely notice it immediately. (marking ground glass done in NYC by Bernie O'Doherty for $175).
