Thank you to all those professionals and lay people who signed the petition. The final number was only 165 but in the end it contributed to the overall victory for the two-tier campaign. Now to get on with building a world class education system for Bedford!

Bedford has long had a three-tier education structure and many believe it is the cause of our repeated failure to perform well in comparison to our statistical neighbours.
This petition backs the recent proposal to move to a two-tier strucuture and take advantage of 'Building Schools for the Future' funding to underpin an effective transition.

• to fully align with the National Curriculum and its development
• to build capacity for change in the system
• ultimately to improve young people’s educational outcomes and life chances.
