Save TSCC 2

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has proven to be an extremely successful and popular show in the short time it has been on screen so far. Nominated for multiple 2007 and 2008 Saturn Awards (including best network TV series), and Teen Choice Awards, the show not only has been popular in both the US and overseas, but also has massive potential for future Seasons.

Unfortunately, ratings have dropped from an average of 11.4 million viewers (US) in Season One, to 5.18 viewers in Season 2. And the lower ratings have prompted rumours and speculation that the show may not be renewed for a third season. Although it is natural for any relatively new show to have lower ratings for a new season than the previous one, many fans are worried by the drop in numbers.

FOX decided, when renewing the show for a second season, to only air thirteen episodes, and later decided to produce the back nine, to make up the full season, resulting in a mid season hiatus that lasted over two months. This mid season hiatus, only months after the writers' strike cut Season One short, is at least in part, responsible for the drop in ratings we have seen, combined with the move to Friday nights, which is notorious for low ratings.

Although there has been no official word from FOX yet; the decline in ratings and growing rumours of cancellation are not a good sign. Given the show's strong and loyal fanabase, and the show's international popularity however; the show could perform well elsewhere, should FOX decide not to renew for a third season.

We, the undersigned, respectfully urge the good people at Warner Bros. to keep Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for another season at least; if not on FOX, then elsewhere, e.g. a cable network, for example.

The show has huge potential, which has yet to be fully reached.

We feel the show has been hurt, in part, by the writers' strike, combined with the mid season hiatus, the move to Friday nights, and the apparent decline in advertising for the show. It's possible and even likely, that many viewers are not even aware that the show is back on, or that is has changed timeslots and is now airing on Friday evenings. We believe these factors are contributing towards the reduced ratings, and are concerned that this great show may be cancelled without reaching its full potential.

Warner Bros. and FOX obviously believed in The Sarah Connor Chronicles enough to renew for a second season, and then to extend Season Two to the full 22 episodes. Warner Bros. have invested a great deal in the show, including salaries, props, special effects, and costumes. The show can be a viable and profitable asset to Warner Bros. if renewed for a full third season, marketed, produced, and delivered properly. Especially considering the heightened interest in Terminator after the release of Terminator: Salvation. Please do not allow extraneous factors such as the mid season hiatus and poor economic climate cause a hasty decision to cancel the show.

By affixing my signature below, I would respectfully ask Warner Bros. to review this petition, the support it shows, and consider favourably the renewal of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for a third season, either on FOX or elsewhere.
