#Justice
Target:
The American People
Region:
United States of America

Help justice become a central American value for today, by petitioning to change the honoring of past slave holders on US currency, while replacing them with founding fathers who were consistently opposed to slavery, and other great Americans such as Susan B Anthony, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Cesar Chavez etc.

George Washington owned 135 slaves in his lifetime. He is still an honored American leader and is featured on the quarter and the dollar bill. Andrew Jackson owned 150 slaves during his lifetime and is still honored as an American hero. He appears on the Twenty dollar bill.

Thomas Jefferson, although he must be commended for being opposed to slavery, never relenquished his position as a slaveholder. He is featured on the nickle and the two dollar bill. Help make both the ideals of liberty and justice for all, and that all men are created equal, consistent beliefs and values that all Americans can be proud of.

The petition will ask for the removal of Washington, Jackson, and Jefferson from any and all denominations of US currency that they may be feautured on; while replacing these men with those founding fathers who consistently opposed slavery such as John Adams etc, and would have seen it as contradictory to the ideals of liberty to own slaves.

Other possible people to honor on our currency are great american heroes such as Susan B Anthony, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Cesar Chavez etc.
