We the people of the State of Ohio stand united with Walter Sumpter and his eligibility for an early release.
The community is also mindful of the maintenance of standards for rehabilitation and reform and is not threatened or feel unsafe by the possibility of a judicial release. (Ohio Revised Code Sec. 2929.)
We believe that there is no reason to protect the public from Walter Sumpter. The people stand behind the growth and maturation he has endured from this imprisonment and feel there is little or no risk that Walter will commit future crimes.
So with that in mind, the time he has served, we feel can be beneficial to his family, the community and himself.
We feel he has fulfilled the necessary requirements it takes to rejoin and be a positive influence in the community.
