Since the induction of ITT Technology in 1965 the students and faculty have been allowed to smoke on campus. As of December 20, 2011 we have been notified that "we" will not be "allowed" to smoke anywhere near the Boston South campus.
We believe that everyone deserves the "right" to choose not to smoke as well as choosing to smoke. Designated areas are already in place for those of us who do smoke, so then why now is this "new policy" going to be implemented? "Second hand smoke"? We think not!
We believe it is Our right as Americans who pay well over $50,000 to attend ITT, to be able to smoke in those areas already designated so "second hand smoke" should not and has not been a "problem.
Until the Government makes smoking illegal in the United States of America we have the right to smoke in designated areas already implemented.
We, the undersigned, call upon ITT Technical Institute to eliminate the smoking ban at the Boston South Campus. We will continue to smoke in the areas already designated by the Boston South Campus.
It is Our right as Americans as well as paying students to smoke or not. We live in a Democracy where "We" are allowed to make "Our" own decisions.
We live in America!
