Currently, the recycling situation in Georgetown is such that it requires a fair amount of time and effort for people to commit to making the city a better place to live.
We have a centralized recycling facility that is poorly advertised and inconvenient. It is necessary for the well being of our environment and our economy to implement a curbside recycling program. By doing such, Georgetown will be setting an example for surrounding rural areas.
Implementing a recycling program will offer a new area of jobs to aid in reducing our extremely high unemployment rate of 10%.
We, the undersigned, have determined that the city of Georgetown, Kentucky, should implement a curbside recycling program in the best interests of our environment and our economy.
