We feel strongly that the Interfaith Prayer and Meditation Room is necessary and beneficial to the progress and reputation of UNCW. We support UNCW joining a majority of universities across the country, including several universities across North Carolina, which have already adopted similar initiatives. Our organization supports and urges the university to listen to the will of the students and pass the establishment of the on-campus non-denominational prayer and meditation room.
We are petitioning to support the establishment of a on-campus interfaith prayer and meditation room to help make UNCW a more spiritually accommodating campus. This will benefit all students by fostering relations among student groups on campus through community interaction. To support a space where the UNCW community can go for contemplation, spiritual renewal, prayer, reflection or relaxation, leading to a sense of inner connection and peace.
