As of June 30, 2008, Dale and Irene Hyska will no longer be employed as resident caretakers of the Creekside building, 125 Milross Street. They received a notice of termination from the Strata Council claiming that their “lack of motivation and failure to keep facilities clean” was grounds for dismissal. This is not the opinion of the majority of residents in the building.
As stated in the minutes of the first Strata meeting for Creekside, “The Strata Council is responsible for the day to day operation of the Strata Corporation and must manage and maintain the common property and common assets of the Strata Corporation for the benefit of all owners.”
The decision to replace the resident caretakers affects all residents in the building, yet the decision was made only by the Creekside Strata Council. No other owners were consulted.
We, the residents of Creekside at Citygate, petition the Strata Corporation to restore Dale and Irene Hyska as resident caretakers of 125 Milross Street.
In addition, provide resident caretakers with sufficient resources, such as a hired cleaning service, to prevent further complaints regarding cleanliness, as the building is much too large to be maintained by only 2 people.
