Dropping out of high school is associated with many negative outcomes, including unemployment, underemployment, poor health, poor mental health, higher reliance on government assistance, and increased criminal activity.

This act would work to prevent high school dropout and reengage individuals who have dropped out, thereby preparing young adults to be productive members of society.
