- Target:
- Everyone living in Kentucky
- Region:
- United States of America
Kentucky needs more stringent laws protecting the health and well-being of citizens, particularly, tenants residing in rental properties. Kentucky has not established laws or regulations concerning mold contamination, and currently, no federal standards exist for permissible exposure limits.
Property owners need to relocate Individuals and families to another dwelling while the mold is properly taken care of. Although all mold is not toxic, it needs to be treated as such, especially in situations where there are or have been leaks in ceilings, behind walls and any other places where tenants aren't able to take care of the mold themselves.
We, the leasees residing in Kentucky, demand more stringent laws pertaining to mold from the Kentucky Board of Health which shall include, but not limited to :
- Relocation while the mold is properly taken care of.
- Reimbursement for rent and money lost or used to relocate.*
* Only if the property owner was notified about the problem in a timely manner.
